In the worldwide General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, President Russell M Nelson asked that all people who are able participate in a worldwide fast on Good Friday, April 10th, 2020. A fast typically consists of a sacrifice of 24 hours from food and water. But President Nelson urged all to sacrifice in ways that they were able, whatever one determined would constitute a good fast. He stated that the purpose of the fast would be that the COVID-19 pandemic would pass quickly and result in normalcy once again.
