In this video we cover everything you need to know about where Valentine’s Day came from. We first look at a brief overview of the holiday and its origin in the celebration called Lupercalia. Then we look at the multiple accounts of different St. Valentine who the holiday is arguably named after. There are three legends that are most common among historians. We then look at how Valentine’s Day evolved into what it is today, with the greeting cards and gifts, and how the word “Valentine” became associated with the word “lover”. Lastly, we look at where Valentine’s Day is celebrated around the world including the Philippines, where many couples are wed on that day.
